New Members

Welcome to Columbia University Formula Racing

Thanks for your interest in joining our team! We design, build, and compete with an electric vehicle (EV) at formula racing-style events for college students, and we need ALL hands on deck.

Below are links to forms to sign up and places where you can learn more about us.

Who Can Join CUFR? TLDR; anyone can join CUFR! If you’re passionate about automobiles, Formula 1, engineering, finance, or design, we’d love to have you contribute your unique skills to the team. Regardless of whether you’re in SEAS, CC, Barnard, GS, or a Graduate student, we welcome all members to join the team in their areas of interest. From designing and building the cars, to managing the finances and creating financial models, to designing team merchandise, there is a place for everyone on CUFR.

About FSAE Competitions: In FSAE Collegiate Design Series competitions, teams compete in static and dynamic events such as design, presentation, cost, acceleration, skidpad, autocross, endurance, and efficiency. In the 2023-2024 season, CUFR plans to follow in the footsteps of previous years and attend the FSAE Michigan Electric Competition in June and potentially FSAE Hybrid in May.
